How To Enable Asset Status Automation

Asset Status Automation lets Payrun automatically process planned asset assignments and planned asset returns on their scheduled dates. Once enabled, you no longer need to manually review and execute scheduled asset actions.
Why Use Asset Status Automation?
Asset Status Automation helps you:
Automatically assign assets on their scheduled assignment date.
Automatically process planned asset returns on the scheduled return date.
Reduce manual work for HR and asset administrators.
Keep asset availability up to date.
Prevent missed assignment or return schedules.
How To Enable Asset Status Automation
Follow these steps to enable the feature:
Go to Settings from the left navigation menu.
Select Assets.
Locate the Asset Status Automation section.
Turn on the Asset Status Automation toggle.
Once enabled, the status changes from Disabled to Enabled.
What Happens After Enabling?
When Asset Status Automation is enabled:
Planned asset assignments are automatically processed on their scheduled date.
Planned asset returns are automatically completed on their scheduled return date.
Asset availability updates automatically after each scheduled action.
No manual intervention is required for scheduled asset actions.
How To Verify Scheduled Asset Actions
You can verify upcoming automated actions from the Assets dashboard.
Navigate to:
Assets → Planned Assignments & Returns
The Planned Assignments & Returns section displays:
Asset name
Assigned employee
Current status
Scheduled assignment or return date
Select See All to view the complete list of upcoming scheduled asset actions.
What Happens When Automation Is Disabled?
If Asset Status Automation is turned off:
Planned assignments are not processed automatically.
Planned returns are not processed automatically.
Administrators must manually review and execute every scheduled asset assignment and return.
Scheduled items remain listed until they are manually processed.

Will Existing Planned Assignments Be Processed Automatically?
Yes. Any planned assignment or planned return with a scheduled date will be processed automatically after Asset Status Automation is enabled.
